Mulching and Stones

Mulch enriches the soil as it decomposes adding nutrients that help improve soil structure. Stones in your garden don’t help with soil enrichment but they do prevent weeds growing through for some time and they also look appealing.

The benefits of having mulch in your garden includes reducing water evaporation from the soil and that means you don’t need to water as frequently.

The benefits of having stones in your garden include, they are low maintenance, they prevent weed growth, and some stones like gravel will allow water to permeate through and that prevents waterlogging. Some types of stone can make your garden visually appealing and provide low maintenance in your landscaped garden.

Mulch can be used in your garden beds, around stepping stones and you can use stones along pathways with or without stepping stones.
